Rabbi that oversaw Ivanka Trump’s conversion joins chorus criticizing president’s Charlottesville response – Normangee Star

According to the New York Times, Ivanka and Jared Kushner are vacationing in Vermont, and not taking a vacation in Croatia, as was previously reported by the publication. A 32-year-old woman was killed Saturday in Charlottesville when a vehicle driven by a white supremacist plowed into a group of counterprotesters.

Ivanka Trump is facing a bit of backlash on Instagram and Twitter for the timing of some of her tweets and posts, and the messages contained therein.

The Nazis, the KKK, and white supremacists are risky anti-Semites, the Republican Jewish Coalition said in a statement Wednesday.

At a news conference Tuesday, Trump doubled down on his initial comments on Saturday and said, I think there is blame on both sides and there were very fine people on both sides.

Trump said in his tweet: Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists and people like Ms. Heyer. And to the American people, to remind them of the values for which we stand in the USA military, which are reflective of what I believe to be the values of the United States. Menken said he sees anti-Jewish bigotry coming from the right and the left, including from parts of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Abraham Foxman, former national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said Tuesday that the pair should seize the opportunity to counsel the president, whose remarks, Foxman said, served to rationalize away Nazism, its hatred, its violence, and find excuses for it.

During a visit Thursday to Beijing, Dunford said: I have seen the chiefs tweets and I can absolutely and unambiguously tell you that there is no place for racism and bigotry in the US military or in the United States as a whole. They were speaking directly to the force and the American people.

Kushners grandmother, Rae Kushner, escaped from the Novogrudok ghetto in present-day Belarus; his grandfather Joseph Kushner also survived the Nazis.

Neither Kushner nor Ivanka Trump have publicly addressed the presidents vacillating comments on the violent confrontations Saturday in Charlottesville.

I know that every day that passes without them directly acting has the opposite effect, Eisen said Wednesday.

Rabbi Yaakov Menken of the Coalition for Jewish Values, an Orthodox Jewish public policy organization based in Baltimore, said the president was right to call out bigotry on many sides. I just feel like its such an intimate thing for us, she told Vogue in February 2015.

The rally in Charlottesville included explicitly Nazi and anti-Semitic chants and signage. White supremacist terror is going on our soil, one Instagram user asked.

Cantwell asked Vice News reporter Elspeth Reeve, Do you think you could feel about race like I do and watch that Kushner bastard walk around with that lovely girl?

Cantwell included a link to the interview on his own website.

Under the 'fair use' rule of copyright law, an author may make limited use of another author's work without asking permission. Fair use is based on the belief that the public is entitled to freely use portions of copyrighted materials for purposes of commentary and criticism. The fair use privilege is perhaps the most significant limitation on a copyright owner's exclusive rights.

Fair use as described at 17 U.S.C. Section 107:

"Notwithstanding the provisions of section 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phono-records or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.

In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include:

  • (1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for or nonprofit educational purposes,
  • (2) the nature of the copyrighted work,
  • (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and
  • (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work."
