PML-N gets out of slumber in Hazara – The News International

ABBOTTABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) seems to be coming out of slumber in Hazara division after the fateful decision of July 28 of Supreme Court of Pakistan in which its leader and prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, was disqualified.

Not a single protest procession worth mentioning against this decision was witnessed in the region which is considered a stronghold of the PML-N.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi, deputy speaker of the National Assembly, was appointed provincial secretary general of the party (against the wishes of Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan). He failed to muster support of the PML-N workers or to energise them to rally behind Nawaz Sharif by coming out on the streets in large number.

Young PML-N Member National Assembly from Haripurs NA-19, Babar Nawaz Khan, took the initiative to mobilise the party workers and voters by holding a PML-N Youth Wing Convention in his native Khalabat Town in Haripur district on the Independence Day. He invited Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar, the son-in-law of disqualified premier, to address the convention as a chief guest.

Raja Faisal Zaman, PML-N MPA from PK-49 and Qazi Muhammad Asad, a former minister and a new entrant to PML-N fold, attended the convention.

Muhammad Safdar heads the PML-N Youth Wing at the central level. Conspicuous by their absence were Amir Muqam, and Murtaza Javed Abbasi, president and general secretary of the PML-N, KP, respectively.

Despising Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and dubbing them as agents of the Jewish lobby, Safdar, in his speech, eulogised Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his sacrifice for the democracy and declared publicly, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is the real martyr and I see him at the high pedestals in Jannah.

Capt Safdar sounded more like a sufi historian to the media corps and his large audience than a politician to whom a very big crowd came and wanted to hear something against his father-in-laws arch rival Imran Khan.

Except on a couple of occasions when he blasted Imran Khans rallies by dubbing them as immoral activities Safdar disappointed this huge crowd by narrating the sacrifices of his own forefathers in which everyone seemed least interested.

He tried his best to make a good case against the unseen forces which did not treat well prime ministers from Liquat Ali Khan to Nawaz Sharif. But at the same time he forgot to mention the one who helped depose Benazir Bhutto or Yousaf Raza Gilani in the recent past.

Khalabat Township show of people power was indeed an encouraging factor but it also sent vibes that it was basically show of power of a clan of Khalabat Babar Nawaz, his uncle MPA Gohar Nawaz and his cousin Samiullah Khan who is tehsil naib nazim.

Capt Safdars advisors could be well advised to suggest to him that if and when he faces such a good crowd to address, he must feel the pulse of the crowd and engage it with his good oratory instincts not by taking them to pre-partition sacrifices of his own elders but to stick with contemporary political narrative that is to hit your political opponents where it hurts the most.

Roger Waters: There Is US Media Conspiracy to Silence My Anti-Israel Views – Algemeiner

Email a copy of “Roger Waters: There Is US Media Conspiracy to Silence My Anti-Israel Views” to a friend

Roger Waters. Photo: Jethro via Wikimedia Commons.

Roger Waters isnt given the opportunity to discuss his anti-Israel activism in the US media or on late-night talk shows because of a conspiracy to silence him. This claim comes froman interview that the former Pink Floyd bassist gave to the Russian outlet RT, as reported by the Independent.

Heres the opening of the IndyarticlebyClarisse Loughrey(Pink Floyds Roger Waters says US media ignores anti-Israel sentiment):

Pink FloydsRoger Watershas criticised the stances of both the US media, and fellow musicians, on Israel. When asked byRTwhy the issue isnt more openly discussed by the US media, he answered with what a producer for PBS reporter Charlie Rose had allegedly told him:Were not quite sure, but it comes from above. So, you can figure it out for yourself. Its not rocket science.

Now, heres a clip of the RT interview you canhear his response in context, and learn that the question specifically pertained to why Roger Waters anti-Israel activism isnt more openly discussed in the media.

First, the complaint by Waterswho has an estimatednet worthof $245 millionthat hes being effectively silenced is absurd.

Moreover, Waters belief in some sort of media conspiracy (from above) to avoid giving him airtime needs to be seen in the context of other risible assertions, including hiscomplaintthat the extraordinarily powerful Jewish lobby frightens many celebrities from joining BDS; hisclaimthatIsrael is arguably the most oppressive regime on the planet; and that Israels oppression of the Palestinians ison par with the Nazis treatment of Jews.

Perhaps the reason why editors, producers and executives dont want Waters discussing BDS is quite simple: As much as they may love the music of Pink Floyd, theyre understandably hesitant to amplify and legitimise political views thatare unhinged, conspiratorial and sometimesantisemitic. The anonymous source cited by Waters is certainly right about one thing: it sure isnt rocket science.

Hizbullah shows the war on Terror can be won – Milli Gazette

Many lessons can be drawn by the recent victory of Lebanese resistance forces. Which was represented by Hezbollah party and supported by Syrian and Lebanese armies where Jabhat Al Nusra Front, which is affiliated to Al Qaeda, was defeated in Jrod Arsal (Tora Bora of Lebanon). More than 150 square kms was liberated from the terrorist organization after five years of occupying this strategic area, on the border between the two countries. Now the war goes on in the remaining areas under the control of its sister group, known as the Islamic State or Daesh.

Military experts and strategic analysts have been studying the victory within a short span of time. So fast and swift that it left them baffled as the area was filled with harsh terrains and human-made caves, which made it impossible to eliminate hiding places used by terrorists who kept on attacking Syria and Lebanon soft targets and kills civilians.

This is a turning point in the fight against terrorism and many lessons can be drawn from such a defeat to terror.

It was meticulously planned and executed with minimum loss of life. According to an Israeli newspaper, Abu Malik Al Talli, the leader of the Al Qaeda in the area, contacted the Israeli government seeking Prime Minister Netanyahus help in defeating Hezbollah and Syrian army, the enemy of Israel, but the French ambassador to Lebanon conveyed a warning from Hezbollah to Israel for retaliation in case there was continued support to the terrorist organization or if it came to its rescue.

The terror groups fighting in Syria and supported from Jordan and Israel, were told that no more support will be extended and hence elimination became easy after being used to the maximum to kill and destabilize Syria.

The media did not focus much on the success of the war on terror and the elimination of Al Qaeda group from this particular area without the support of US and the West!

Are you surprised? Think it over. How can you win a war on terror without their support? I am not surprised.

Israelcontinues to have sleepless nights about the increasing skills of the Hezbollah fighters in the war against terrorists in Syria and Lebanon. The battle in Syria and Lebanon raised the morale among Hezbollah fighters and any misadventure of Israel army to attack Lebanon again which would lead to an all open war in Syria and Lebanon with Irans involvement.

The pretext for Israel to support Al Qaeda at the border with Syria is to keep Iran and Hezbollah fighters away from its oil-rich border with Syria. Especially after the discovery a good reserve of oil in the Syrian occupied Golan and neighboring areas extended into the Syrian territory. There is no other explanation for Israels support to Al Qaeda. In fact, even the Israeli officials havve been saying it out in the open, including Netanyahu who was smiling to cameras while visiting terrorists treated at a makeshift hospital created by IDF in occupied Golan.

The Lebanese victory coincided with the Al Aqsa mosque rift with Palestinians who fought the Israeli occupation forces and resisted the new Israeli measures of intervention in their holy places. This also exposed the Moderate Sunni Arab Countries trying to normalize relations with Israel at the time of its continuing occupation and annihilation of the Palestinian territory. Netanyahus days may be counted for his mishandling of this issue and a chargesheet of corruption charges against him, to be tabled soon. All these developments led to a sudden rise of popularity of resistance forces and gaining sympathizers.

The quick victories by the Syrian army, with the help of Russia, Iran and Hezbollah, led to the liberation of territory from terror groups so much for the disliking of Israel which is putting more pressures on USA using the Jewish lobby AIPAC and other outfits, to act against Hezbollah and Iran ever since President Trump came to power. Trump administration, on the other hand, will now activate and internationalize the UNSC resolution 1701 to expand the UNIFIL role on the border of Lebanon with Israel. Washington wanted to dilute the winning battle of Hezbollah against the Al Qaeda terrorist group, by taking part in the elimination of the Islamic State from the Lebanese border for which the Lebanese army had already taken the initiative. US does not want Hezbollah to take any role in this war. In fact, keeping this hotspot active will keep a check on the party positions in Bekaa Valley and neighboring areas thus leading to an attraction of the international community to amend the UNSC resolution 1701 under the pretext of fighting terrorism.

Israelis also pushing for US meddling in UNIDOF with Syria and Israel. Tel Aviv is hoping to create a buffer zone next to occupied Syrian Golan.

It was Prime Minister Netanyahu who pushed President Trump for more action against the Syrian government for a regime change in Syria. President Trump ended CIA support to moderate terrorist groups in Syria but kept the ante against the Lebanese party.

Kuwait, on the other hand, opened an investigation about an alleged Hezbollah cell in Kuwait, with a view to strengthen the American hand in tarnishing the image of the party as an international terrorist organization. This suits Israel which is preparing for a war against the party. But, the cost will be catastrophic if an all-out war broke this time. Hezbollah threatened Israel that the war will be fought inside Israel and not only on the Lebanese territory. Common Israeli citizens take this threat very seriously.

The inter-fighting among Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia and allies, against Qatar has exposed the nexus between the terrorist groups fighting in Syria and those funding them with the knowledge and approval of USA and the West.

Many lessons are learned from winning the war on terror in this battle. A comprehensive fight against terrorism can be achieved only if states sponsoring terrorism stop funding, arming and training the terrorists. Stop using terrorism as a tool to achieve political gains and stop taking revenge from those truly fighting the terror menace.

Its not over, till it is finally over. Those who were hoping to hear the last word on Panamagate on July 28 and put it to rest forever, were in for yet another disappointment. The verdict has opened up a can of worms, as all shades of opinion continue to sound off on the judgement, mostly with scepticism.

The major point of contention is the articles under which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was dismissed: Articles 62 and 63, which were added to the Constitution as amendments by Sharifs benefactor, General Zia-ul-Haq.

In an ironic twist of fate, Sharif, who had refused to remove the two controversial articles, despite the PPP pleas when they were moving the 18th Amendment, is its latest victim. And he will probably not be the last. A clear and present danger exists that more heads will roll for failing to meet Gen Zias criteria of sadiq and ameen. But the former PM is not unduly concerned. Why, he may want to see his sworn enemy Imran Khan go down with him under the same clauses.

His only expression for now is one of relief for not being shown the door on corruption charges. But the Sharif familys troubles are far from over. A NAB court will soon begin hearings on the references filed against the Sharif family on assorted charges, from failing to provide the money trail for the London properties, to perjury, to forging documents, to intimidating state institutions, to falsifying documents, and so forth. If these charges were indeed proven to be true, the Panamagate inquiry should serve as a good case study on how governments circumvent, subvert, corrupt and beat the system.

When the Supreme Court set the accountability process in motion, there were howls of protest. The exercise was seen as a conspiracy against Nawaz by the Jewish lobby/the Americans/the Arabs for the nuclear blasts/CPEC/failure to send troops to Yemen. Worse, it was seen as a threat to derail democracy. Why should accountability pose a threat to democracy? Seventy years down the road of Independence, Pakistans parliamentarians seem to have forgotten the classic definition of democracy the rule of the people, by the people, for the people. Unfortunately, the power-brokers and power-wielders of this country have conducted themselves abysmally. The recurring themes of 2017 have been corruption and misgovernance. And yet accountability is equated with conspiracy, and seen as a threat to democracy.

Its time the rulers of this country were held accountable for their sins of omission and commission.

With them, its only been about winning an election and raking in the moolah. The next general elections are 10 months away, but the game of thrones has already begun.

OC GOP Rejects Alt-Right Figure Johnny Benitez Over Alleged Anti-Semitism – OC Weekly

Monday, August 7, 2017 at 9:46 a.m.

It seems like every week, local alt-right loser Juan Cadavid a.k.a. Johnny Benitez has a new enemy in his own camp. First, it was a Proud Girls member who grew suspiciousafter reading the Weekly’s article on Cadavid’s suspicious past, then “Based Spartan” openly called Cadavid a coward.Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes followed by giving Cadavid the boot after trying to change PB rules, then 43rd Congressional District candidate Omar Navarro accused Cadavid of slandering him, with alt-rightbodyguard Antonio Foreman backing up Navarro.

Now Orange County Republican Party Chairman Fred Whitaker is the latest to face the wrath of Cadavid’s Facebook rants.

Cadavid attempted to table for the OC GOP with former Villa Park councilwoman Deborah Pauly on August 4, 2017 at the OC Fair but they barred him from representing the party after they saw the following video, which they deemed anti-Semitic. In the video, he speaks about “Jewish problems” such as “organized groups of Jews” showing up to counter the alt-right in Berkeley, calls the Bolshevik movement a Jewish movement, criticizes Jewish Americans for not identifying simply as American, rails against the “Jewish lobby on the left that lobbies for open borders and gun control” and “on the right that lobbies for financial aid to Israel.” And for good measure, Cadavidwho’s Latinospeaks against affirmative action, citing a video about the correlation between IQ and different ethnic groups.

While the OC GOP nixed Cadavid due to the video, it appears to have nothing to due with his Islamophobia, his glorifying of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, opposition to the removal of Confederate statues, transphobic posts, jokes about disabled people, comparing himselfto Derek Vinyard from American History X, his use of the triple brackets “((( )))” when identifying Jewish journalist Laura Loomer or even his profile picture containing the valknut, a symbol commonly used by racists. Deborah Pauly wasn’t happy to hear her fellow Islamophobe got 86’d and took to Facebook to voice her disapproval of the GOP’s decision.

“The Republican Party should be ashamed for shutting down free speech.” Pauly commented to Cadavid in an online post August 4, 2017 then later commenting to another user “I am going to be sharing the full story….believe me!”

Cadavid decided to take his response in his own hands in a August 4 live stream where he appeared visibly triggered to say the least.

“Fred Whitaker is a GOP cuckservative.” He says in the video, “Fred Whitaker is essentially what you get if you find a weasel and cut off it’s balls. He’s a worthless human being, he’s a blight on the conservative and right-wing political body and he disavowed me for being ‘anti-Semitic’. Now I have never in any point in time been anti-Semitic, I’ve never made any anti-Semitic remarks” before admitting tohis remarks in his previous “Jewish problems” video.

And Cadavid continues. He calls out Whitaker for supporting Israel, the GOP for using a leftist tactic by calling him a antisemite, says the GOP refuses to accept the truth, calls the GOP a “disgusting party,” maintains the older generation of the GOP doesn’t care about the younger generation, encourages everyone to start looking into forming a new right-wing party and states “the Republican party is dead and needs to die.”

“You want to tell me not to punch right?” he continues. “Fuck that! The people on the right who have all the money and the power are the elites…people who want to support the working class, people who want to actually lower taxes, we don’t have a party.”

Despite Cadavid’s words against Whitaker and the GOP, Pauly continues to stand by Cadavid and even spoke alongside himthe next day withalt-right figures such as Augustus Invictus and Joe Biggs at the Make Men Great Again event in Huntington Beach. OC GOP Chairman Fred Whitaker issued the following statement to the Weekly in regards to Cadavid’s alleged anti-Semitism and Pauly’s defense of his right to “free speech”.

“Mr. Benitez” rant on Facebook along with his prior video on the “Jewish problems” speak for themselves as to why he was not allowed to be a representative of the OCGOP. It’s a free country, he can say what he pleases and we are free to say this type of vitriol is not acceptable, does not represent the views of the GOP, and cannot be condoned.”

Even as Cadavid continues to rack up enemies among conservatives, his reach appears to be growing with upwards of 800 Facebook followers and a group of supporters who support him no matter what he does. Within a little over three months of jumping from the left to the right, he has managed to climb himself to a level where he’s spoken alongside alt-right figures such as Kyle Chapman a.k.a. Based Stickman, is interning for the likes of conservative “journalist” Irma Hinojosa and is even running the Alt-Knights of Orange County, whoever the hell they are. Now, Cadavid is teaming up with Tim “Treadstone” Goinet (aka Baked Alaska)who’s so anti-Semitic that he got uninvited from the D.C. Deploraballfor an anti-immigrant rally in Laguna Beach this month.

With all of this punching Right Cadavid is doing, one should remember the texts acquired by the Weekly between Cadavid and a left-wing activist in April.

“I want to climb the social ranks and push a hard right conservative agenda and create a rift between libertarians and conservatives and split up the base,” Cadavid wrote in a text shared with the Weekly. “Also it’s fun.”

Turmoil In Muslim World – Indo-Israel Role In Fiasco – PakObserver – Pakistan Observer

Zain Waseem

IF we look at the map of Middle East and beyond it appears that the Muslim world is in the grip of militancy and terrorism. While Syria , Yemen , Libya , Afghanistan and Iraq have become failed states and facing turmoil in shape of Armed Conflicts; Turkey , Pakistan , Saudi Arabia , Egypt and even Iran are victims of Low Intensity Conflicts (LIC). In the Muslim world, Sectarianism is also driving inter-state relations. Sectarian divisions on lines of Shia and Sunni have divided the Muslim world into two camps. The Sunni Arab states, Pakistan and Turkey are on Sunni side of regional fault line. While Shia Iran with Zaidi dominated Yemen , Iraq , Alawi dominated Syria and Lebanese based Hizbullah are on the Shia side. While Sunni and Shia States are embroiled in proxy wars, valuable Human and material resources of the Muslim world are facing the brunt of underdevelopment & wasteful utilization due to these wars. Meanwhile taking advantage of the vaccum created by Muslim states due to the in-fighting and considering Muslim Civilization as a threat to Zionism and fundamental Hinduism, India and Israel who were in a hidden alliance earlier, are now working openly on their strategic goals against Muslims. As a result of this warming up of relations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Israel from 04 to 06 July 2017. Incidentally, this was first ever visit of Indian PM to Israel after establishing diplomatic relations with Zionist state in 1992. The visit of Indian Prime Minister to Tel Aviv comes on the heels of Modi visit to United States at the end of June 2017. As rare goodwill gesture, PM Modi was received by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Airport in Tel Aviv. Not only the red carpet was rolled out for the visiting dignitary but PM Modi was also introduced to Mr Sharif, head of Ahmadiyya Sect and Sectary General of Bahai Sect at the airport. Head of Ahmadiyya Community during the interaction lauded the support extended to his community by PM Modi in his country. It may be recalled that both Ahmadiyya and Bahai Sects are seen as apostates by Islamic Scholars and declared as non Muslims in Pakistan and Iran respectively. Their presence at Tel Avivs airport to meet Modi is testimony to the fact that both Israel and India are using these sects to stir unrest to further their nefarious designs in Iran/Pakistan. To please Indian Prime Minister, Israeli government went a step further, whereby Baluchistan Liberation Army Flags and Placards saying Baluchistan Welcomes You were paraded prominently. To win hearts and minds of Jews across the world, Prime Minister Modi visited Israel s official Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem. Modi described Yad Vashem as a poignant reminder of unspeakable evil. Modi spontaneously also visited the nearby grave of Zionist founding father, Theodor Herzl. Modi also emotionally embraced 11 years old Jewish boy Moshe Holtzberg, whose parents were killed during 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack. He told the boy that he would always be welcome in India . During the three days visit, both nations signed seven bilateral agreements, covering technology, agriculture and water & space research. Israel and India also established a $40 million Industrial R&D and Innovation Fund. The most prominent feature of the visit was that PM Modi did not mention; Palestine once during his official and unofficial engagements. Similarly, he showed no desire to meet Palestinian President Mahmood, neither he also supported two states solution for Palestine ; the stance India has taken for decades. Before analyzing the objectivity of the visit and what both countries gained out of the visit, let us analyze why Nethan Yahu went out of the way to welcome PM Modi. It is opined that both leaders have developed very strong friendship over the years due to their common hatred for Muslims. Both leaders have butchered hundreds of Muslims in Gaza and Indian state of Gujrat and elsewhere on one pretext or the other. Both leaders have the ambition to dominate the Muslim world and crush ongoing freedom struggles in Palestine as well as Kashmir . Both Leaders also want to expand their existing frontiers by conquering more land of neighboring Muslim countries. Therefore, if we view the unfolding of events and engagements of Indian Prime Minister, it becomes evidently clear that the visit was aimed for sending multiple messages to Muslims around the world. First and foremost message was that Muslims must forget about liberation of Al Quds al Sharif and Palestine struggle for separate homeland is unlikely to materialize in future. It was also aimed to create a perception that Palestinians are losing support at all levels, therefore, they must accept Israel as reality and embrace themselves to bury their identity into Zionist state of Israel . For Iran there was a clear message that both India-Israel are now close friends. Iranian hostile attitude towards Tel Aviv is un-acceptable. Both countries have the leverages available in form of Bahai and other communities to stir unrest in Iran . Similarly both countries could use Sunni Baluch in Sistan to create troubles for Tehran . For Pakistan, the messages were; that containing Pakistan or even dismembering it is the shared interest of both Tel Aviv and New Delhi; Pakistanis historic political and moral support to Palestinian and Kashmiris is un-acceptable; and both countries would go to any extent to stir sectarian, extremist and political unrest in Pakistan. Similarly, another message was that CPEC is viewed with suspicion by both countries and all out efforts would be made by arming Baluch insurgents to derail the project. In nutshell the outcome of this visit has far reaching implications for Pakistan on strategic plane. It means that India would now use powerful Jewish lobby in US to pressurize Islamabad to give up its moral support to Kashmiri ongoing freedom struggle. By using Jewish card, Modi hopes that President Trump would also be made to support Indian tough approach towards Pakistan . The Modi plan includes limited military strikes against continuation of proxy war in Baluchistan and KPK while operating from Afghanistan and even getting Pakistan tagged as a state Sponsoring Terrorism at International Forums. While Middle East is facing upheaval and turmoil, Indo-Israel nexus duly backed by the US is real threat to the Muslim world. It is pertinent to mention that Indian diaspora working in oil rich GCC Countries is sending billions of dollars to India . The amount is used by New Delhi to pursue its ambitious military modernization and space programme by purchasing State of Art equipment from Israel . Meanwhile Chahbahar Port agreement with Iran provides India with direct access to Central Asia and beyond. On the other hand, Israel , by providing covert support to fundamentalists in Syria and Libya is prolonging ongoing civil wars in these countries. This state of affairs is unacceptable for the Muslim world. Pakistan and Iran have to take stock of the situation emerging out of Israel-India unholy alliance. Pakistan and Iran , while improving bilateral relations, must squeeze India economically by denuding its real motives about Muslims. In the same context, it is firmly believed that Indians expatriates, working in different sensitive entities of GCC Countries, Iran and Iraq , are involved in spying. These Non-resident Indians are passing sensitive information to Tel Aviv through New Delhi . Pakistan must use its diplomatic weight with GCC Countries to weed out personnel of Indian origin from sensitive organizations of GCC countries. Meanwhile Iran may also be asked to review its relations with India and ensure that Indians are not allowed to operate from Sistan Baluchistan. The Muslims world needs to stand united in these testing times. With the adversaries coming together and preparing for inflicting disruptive blows on the Muslim world, a correspondingly strong and visionary strategy needs to be carved. The immediate focus should be on carefully weeding out enemy elements in our own structures while in the medium to long term, we should be focusing on finding common grounds among ourselves and our potential allies in the region. New graffiti mocking Trump on Bethlehem barrier wall – ANSAmed

TEL AVIV – The cement wall around Bethlehem in the West Bank continues to spark the creativity of artists both well-known and unknown, with two new murals mocking US President Donald Trump. In one, a large-dimension depiction shows Trump painted in a way that has him embracing an actual Israeli guard tower. In the other, Trump touches the surface of a wall with a thought bubble above his head that says “I’m going to build you a brother”, an obvious allusion to the Mexico border wall. In this second mural, Trump is shown wearing a Jewish kippah, perhaps to insinuate his acquiescence to the Jewish lobby. The first mural is signed “@LushSux”, who is listed on a Facebook page as a Melbourne artist active in various countries around the world, and who has previously painted murals depicting Trump (sometimes shown as a dog with downward-flopping ears) as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin. Others are crediting the murals to the renowned anonymous British graffiti artist Banksy, who has previously painted on the Israeli West Bank barrier wall. Banksy, who supports the Palestinian cause, opened a hotel earlier this year in the West Bank called the “Walled Off Hotel”. Containing 10 fairly elegant rooms decorated with artwork, all with a view looking out on the wall, the hotel offers guests a way to see the same thing that West Bank residents see when they open their windows.

As Roger Waters tours the US, I’ll stay home – The Jerusalem Post mobile website

While there is no doubt Waters is a brilliant songwriter and was an integral part of Pink Floyd, I will again abstain from attending. I love live rock music, in fact Ive seen over 500 rock bands perform live in the past four decades. And while Pink Floyd was an integral part of my music collection, I cannot bring myself to watch Waters perform.

While many will argue that Waters vapid but very public support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement stems from a desire for human rights and social justice, it has become apparent over the years that Floyds former frontman simply holds Jews, not just those who are Israeli citizens, in contempt.

I know of many in the academic community who are critical of Israels government and even support aspects of BDS, yet are not antisemitic. While I may believe that many of them are sorely misguided in their interpretation of history and policies in the Middle East, I know that their intentions for peaceful coexistence are genuine. Additionally, it pains me that there exist extreme right-wing movements in Israel, such as La Familia, that bring shame to the vast majority of Israelis and global Jewish citizens who want nothing more but peace with their Palestinian and Arab neighbors. Waters actions and statements, however, which feature traditional antisemitic tropes such as those referring to a global Jewish conspiracy and the depiction of the Star of David in tandem with pigs, is contraindicative of someone who is merely against Israeli government policy.

In fact, Waters stated in the magazine Counterpunch, The Jewish lobby is extraordinarily powerful here and particularly in the industry that I work in, the music industry and in rockn roll as they say. I promise you, naming no names, Ive spoken to people who are terrified that if they stand shoulder to shoulder with me they are going to get f*****.

In that one statement Waters manages to integrate the Jewish lobby with Jewish control of industry and fear of reprisals for speaking out against the Jews. Its as if Waters was quoting directly from the infamous propaganda text The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which was created as a tool to scapegoat The Jewish Enemy in early 20th century Europe.

It is rather ironic that Waters, who penned the classic anthem Another Brick in the Wall, which features the line we dont need no thought control, is such a fervent supporter of the BDS movement. The BDS movement, in arts and academia, is about suppressing the free exchange of ideas and degrading the ability to share new knowledge with the world. In fact, as Waters spray-paints we dont need no thought control on a separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank, Palestinian children are subjected to… well…

thought control.

In fact, Palestinian children have been learning from teaching materials that both demonize the Jewish People and erase Jewish history at sites like the Western Wall. Palestinian students are subjected to hateful propaganda that views Jews as the enemy and as deserving of violent death. Its important to note that, in clear evidence against claims by many BDS supporters, the hate rhetoric is not merely anti-Zionist or anti-Israeli, but distinctly anti-Jewish.

In fact, these schools go as far as to praise Islamic State (ISIS), as noted during 2016s American legislative push to withhold funding to UN-funded schools.

Young Palestinian children are taught time and time again to hate Jews and work toward their annihilation.

This is a well-documented fact that Waters, who named his latest foray across the US The Us and Them Tour, ignores repeatedly.

Lets be clear, Im not calling for a boycott of Waters tour or for his tour dates to be canceled. In the US, of course, we have the right to say what we wish and perform as we desire. The sad irony here though is that as Waters uses this freedom to espouse his hatred of Jews, Palestinians living under Hamas and PA control in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are not allowed such freedom.

In fact, as The Economist noted in 2016, Palestinian authorities have beaten, tortured and censored Palestinian journalists who have written pieces critical of Hamas and Fatah.

Attacks on freedoms are not limited to members of the press but include those in the LGBT community, Christians and anyone who dares speak out against the Palestinian leadership.

Waters, of course, has chosen to play in Russia in recent years, a nation that has banned and expelled many artists for blasphemy and related infractions, such as Polands Behemoth, who were detained and imprisoned four dates into their planned 13-date tour of the country in 2014.

Waters also played Turkey in 2013, a nation featuring a far-right government under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has spread terror and fear among his own people, not to mention the Kurds, who have been subject to persecution for decades.

So while Waters enjoys his artistic freedom here in the US and uses his ability to speak freely in a manner that even further rouses global antisemitism, the Palestinians he purports to care about will continue to be wedged in a never-ending struggle, championed not by leaders of true social justice and those seeking a path for peaceful coexistence, but rather hard-left agitators who have worked feverishly against the continuous existence of Jewish global citizens.

Ill stay home.

Imran failed to provide money trail for purchasing property: Tariq Fazal – Business Recorder (press release) (registration) (blog)

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CAAD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Sunday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had failed to provide money trail for purchasing property.

“Imran Khan should stop misleading the nation and shouting on others, and present his own money trail before the Supreme Court,” Dr Tariq Fazal said while addressing a press conference here along with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz.

He said the money trail, which Imran Khan had submitted to the Supreme Court, was not authentic as there was no mention of any proper source of his income in the documents.

He had also not provided complete details to the Supreme Court about his offshore company Niazi Services Limited, Dr Tariq added.

He said Imran could not escape accountability for irregularities in his personal property documents. His assets were beyond his means.

The minister said one of Imran’s lawyers had admitted tax evasion in the case of Niazi Service while the another one conceded about his getting party funding from abroad.

Imran Khan in his tweets had thanked the Indian nationals and the Jewish lobby for funding to his party, he added.

He said that those talking of moral obligation must keep in mind that Imran Khan had no moral courage to present himself before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and anti-terrorist court for submitting replies to their queries.

Imran Khan, he said, had totally failed to prove actual source of his income.

He questioned as to how Imran Khan was morally justified to level allegations against the government while avoiding to present himself before the courts.

Daniyal Aziz said the people could not be misled any more as they were aware of the ones, who believed in accountability, and the others, who had been escaping from the courts of law.

He said despite constitutional immunity, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had taken a historical step by presenting three generations of his family for accountability.

He said Imran Khan had been continuously raising hue and cry, and levelling allegations against the prime minister, but he could not present a single proof against him.

He said neither in the joint investigation team’s report nor during the hearing of the Panama Papers case by the Supreme Court, a single allegation of corruption or misuse of authority was proved against the prime minister.

Imran Khan, who, he alleged, was in the habit of shouting and abusing others, had distorted facts about his own earning sources.

He advised Imran Khan to stop doing politics of allegations and using abusive language against respectable politicians.

He said Imran Khan was in fact afraid of the PML-N’s growing popularity. The government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had made considerable progress in all the fields and Imran Khan could not stop it by telling lies.

He expressed the confidence that Nawaz Sharif would emerge unscathed from the Panama Papers case.

Dr Tariq Fazal strongly condemned the incident of misbehavior with journalists at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and assured that an inquiry would be conducted against those involved in it. Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had already taken notice of the incident and sought a report from FIA high-ups.

He said the present government believed in freedom of expression and considered any attack on media as an attack on itself.

Email a copy of “Roger Waters: There Is US Media Conspiracy to Silence My Anti-Israel Views” to a friend Roger Waters. Heres the opening of the IndyarticlebyClarisse Loughrey(Pink Floyds Roger Waters says US media ignores anti-Israel sentiment): Pink FloydsRoger Watershas criticised the stances of both the US media, and fellow musicians, on Israel.

Editor’s Note: August 2017 – Newsline

By Rehana Hakim | Newsbeat National | Published 18 hours ago Its not over, till it is finally over.

“The Republican Party should be ashamed for shutting down free speech.” Pauly commented to Cadavid in an online post August 4, 2017 then later commenting to another user “I am going to be sharing the full story….believe me!” Cadavid decided to take his response in his own hands in a August 4 live stream where he appeared visibly triggered to say the least. He calls out Whitaker for supporting Israel, the GOP for using a leftist tactic by calling him a antisemite, says the GOP refuses to accept the truth, calls the GOP a “disgusting party,” maintains the older generation of the GOP doesn’t care about the younger generation, encourages everyone to start looking into forming a new right-wing party and states “the Republican party is dead and needs to die.” “You want to tell me not to punch right?” he continues. “Fuck that! The people on the right who have all the money and the power are the elites…people who want to support the working class, people who want to actually lower taxes, we don’t have a party.” Despite Cadavid’s words against Whitaker and the GOP, Pauly continues to stand by Cadavid and even spoke alongside himthe next day withalt-right figures such as Augustus Invictus and Joe Biggs at the Make Men Great Again event in Huntington Beach. It’s a free country, he can say what he pleases and we are free to say this type of vitriol is not acceptable, does not represent the views of the GOP, and cannot be condoned.” Even as Cadavid continues to rack up enemies among conservatives, his reach appears to be growing with upwards of 800 Facebook followers and a group of supporters who support him no matter what he does.

Zain Waseem IF we look at the map of Middle East and beyond it appears that the Muslim world is in the grip of militancy and terrorism.

In fact, as Waters spray-paints we dont need no thought control on a separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank, Palestinian children are subjected to… well… thought control.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Under the 'fair use' rule of copyright law, an author may make limited use of another author's work without asking permission. Fair use is based on the belief that the public is entitled to freely use portions of copyrighted materials for purposes of commentary and criticism. The fair use privilege is perhaps the most significant limitation on a copyright owner's exclusive rights.

Fair use as described at 17 U.S.C. Section 107:

"Notwithstanding the provisions of section 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phono-records or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.

In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include:

  • (1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for or nonprofit educational purposes,
  • (2) the nature of the copyrighted work,
  • (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and
  • (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work."
