The biased writers at the Associated Press said the tea party in Nevada would “draw angry crowds” today.

They were right.

Supporters of Democratic Senator Harry Reid attacked the Tea Party Express bus today in Nevada.
This statement was just released:

Supporters of Senator Harry Reid have just thrown eggs at the Tea Party Express bus caravan – striking at least one of the three buses (the red Tea Party Express bus) with multiple eggs.

About 35 Reid supporters had lined Highway 95 in front of the Nugget Casino in Searchlight where they were attempting a counter-demonstration the tens of thousands of tea party supporters who are gathering for the “Showdown in Searchlight.”

More details to follow…

Do you suppose the state-run media will be as outraged about this as they were about the bogus hate crimes or coffingate story? Don’t count on it.

UPDATE: Andrew Breitbart was also attacked by the Harry Reid supporters.
Founding Bloggers has details.

UPDATE: There are reportedly THOUSANDS of patriots at the rally. I was just told by a friend that they are having to walk forever to get to the rally.

UPDATE: Here’s a look at the protest today via the Las Vegas Sun:

Left Coast Rebel reported more from the protest.

PJTV is broadcasting the entire protest today in Torchlight.

Lib Radio Host Calls For Deaths of Limbaugh, Beck and O’Reilly… Media Silent (Audio)

Liberal radio host Mike Malloy called for the death of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly on Friday’s Show.
Of course, the state-run media won’t say a word about this toxic threatening speech.
Radio Equalizer captured the audio:

Radio Equalizer posted the transcript:

MALLOY (31:30): It took these filthy Republicans about 48 hours- 72 hours to come up with the ‘oh, yeah, well, you know, we’re getting bad phone calls too, yes we are.

And then this John Boner, this John Boner [sic] these guys created this. they created this atmosphere, they did it because Limbaugh and Beck told them to!

MALLOY (36:25): Well, keep it up boys, just keep it up, um except for one thing: you rat bastards are going to cause another Murrah federal building explosion, you are. And then – what is Beck – maybe at that point Beck will do the honorable thing and blow his brains out…

Maybe at that point, Limbaugh will do the honorable thing and just gobble up enough – enough Viagra that he becomes absolutely rigid and keels over dead.

Maybe then O’Reilly will just drink a vat of the poison he spews out on America every night and choke to death!

Unreal… Coward Russ Carnahan Is Raising Money Off of Faked Coffin Story

On Sunday members of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition held a prayer vigil for the victims of Obamacare at Rep. Russ Carnahan’s office and later outside his home in St. Louis. We brought a coffin with us to represent the millions of Americans who will suffer from inadequate treatment and perish under Obamacare. We also prayed for Russ Carnahan and Democrats for bringing more suffering and pain on the American people.

The prayer vigil at Carnahan’s office was covered by the local media. (KSDK Photo)

On Wednesday the Carnahan people and Democratic-media complex twisted the story of this innocent prayer vigil into some kind of threat against Russ Carnahan. The Carnahan camp said the coffin was dumped on his lawn overnight and was a threat against his life.

This was completely untrue. It was such a huge lie that The Politico had to correct their bogus story and the far left Democratic Underground retracted the story completely.

But, that didn’t stop liar Russ Carnahan from trying to raise money off of it.
Josie Wales at Pajamas Media reported:

An email arrived in my inbox this afternoon from Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s baby-brother, Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-Missouri).  In this email, Carnahan pledges to not be intimidated by Coffingate, and then asks me for money.  This email may be the most despicable yet of the campaign season.  After a brutal 48 hours of press retractions about an incident regarding a coffin placed near his house, Carnahan is attempting to hustle money for intimidation that did not occur.

Carnahan provides a link to a piece in Politico – the very piece that was suggested to Politico reporter Jake Sherman by a Carnahan spokesperson, (and subsequently corrected).  Here is some text from his email.

They’ve tried every dirty trick in the book to block critical reforms that will stop insurance companies from rejecting children with preexisting conditions or denying care to those who are sick. Try as they may, we will not be intimidated.
Help me send a message that threats and extreme tactics will not work. Please contribute $100, $50 or even $25 right now to help me fight back against those who will stop at nothing to block health care reform for Missouri families….

It must be hard to get good help these days.  At the center of the controversy is Sara Howard, Congressman Carnahan’s spokesperson for his re-election campaign.  Howard comes from SEIU, where she spent a number of years learning the ins and outs of labor-press relations.

There’s more on Carnahan’s SEIU helper Sarah Howard at Big Government.

Nevada Fake Tea Party Candidate Faces Felony Charges

Fake tea party candidate Scott Ashjian, a Nevada asphalt contractor running for US Senate in Nevada, was charged Friday with felony theft and bad check charges in Las Vegas. The fake tea partier allegedly bounced a $5,000 business check last year.

On top of that the Tea Party Express released a video telling faker Scott Ashjian to get lost:

The AP reported:

Scott Ashjian is one of a record 22 candidates, including 12 Republicans, running for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is seeking a fifth term.

Bernie Zadrowski, head of the Clark County district attorney’s office bad check unit, said he would seek an arrest warrant Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court. Ashjian could face up to 14 years in state prison if convicted.

The tea party movement is a disparate coalition of conservative groups angered by federal spending, rising taxes and the growth and reach of government. Other tea party activists have been distancing themselves from Ashjian, and an ad targeting him has been sponsored by the Tea Party Express, one of the most visible factions of the national tea party movement.

In a separate matter, a Carson City District Court judge on Friday set an April 14 hearing on a lawsuit that challenges Ashjian’s “in the Tea Party of Nevada and his place on the ballot.

As Bob Owens reported: “The Tea Party of Nevada is a fake grassroots organization led by a Democratic lawyer and conspiracy theorists that hoped to split away enough Republican votes to give Harry Reid a chance of remaining in office.”

After Nationalizing Health Care & Student Loans – Obama Continues Attack on Private Sector In Weekly Address

Tyrant or President?
Obama continued his attack on the private sector in his Weekly Address today.

The media continues to be impressed with Barack Obama’s “good week” after he rammed a grossly unpopular bill through Congress in unprecedented fashion that gave the federal government control of one-sixth of the nation’s economy and two major industries.
That’s what the media calls a “good week.”

Today Barack Obama defended his attack on the private sector in his Weekly Address. Obama insisted that having the government in control of student loan program will lower cost. It’s never happened before, but Obama believes it will now.

President Barack Obama said changes to the federal student loan program, part of the health-care overhaul package enacted this week, will save taxpayers $68 billion over the next decade by taking private lenders out of the business of originating loans.

In his weekly address on radio and Internet, Obama called education and health care “two of the most important pillars of a strong America.” He thanked Congress for passing the measures, calling them “real and major reform.”

Year after year, we’ve seen billions of taxpayer dollars handed out as subsidies to the bankers and middlemen who handle federal student loans, when that money should have gone to advancing the dreams of our students and working families,” Obama said.

The president also spotlighted a doubling in funding for Pell Grants, the federal scholarships for low-income students, and a provision that as of 2014 will cap a graduate’s annual student loan repayment at 10 percent of their income. These moves, he said, will help “make sure our students don’t go broke just because they chose to go to college.”

The legislation, he said, calls for “revitalizing” programs offered at community colleges. He termed those schools “the career pathways for millions of dislocated workers and working families across the county.”

The measure also increases support for institutions that focus on minority students, including historically black colleges, which Obama said will keep these schools “as strong as ever in this new century.”

Private lenders have said the legislation will cost them jobs. SLM Corp., the Reston, Virginia-based lender called Sallie Mae, said the measure’s passage will force it to fire 2,500 workers.

Another Crushing Blow to the Economy: Obamacare Will Cost US Corporations Billions

It’s almost as if Obama and democrats actually want the economy to collapse?

The country is just beginning to discover the massive economic damage from Obamacare.
GOP Senators reported:

Economic Damage Of Health Bill Continues

AT&T, 3M, And AK Steel Already Report Devastating Effects Of Health Bill

“AT&T Inc. Will Take A $1 Billion Non-Cash Charge In The First Quarter Because Of The Health Care Overhaul And May Cut Benefits It Offers To Current And Retired Workers.” (“AT&T Will Take $1B Non-Cash Charge For Health Care,” The Associated Press, 3/26/10)

“3M Company Today That It Expects To Record A One-Time Non-Cash Charge Of $85 To $90 Million After Tax… Resulting From The Recently Enacted Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act.” “3M Company said today that it expects to record a one-time non-cash charge of $85 to $90 million after tax, or approximately 12 cents per share, in the first quarter of 2010, resulting from the recently enacted Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including modifications made in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 passed by Congress on March 25, 2010. The charge is due to a reduction in the value of the company’s deferred tax asset as a result of a change to the tax treatment of Medicare Part D reimbursements.” (“3M Anticipates New U.S. Healthcare Law to Result in One-Time Charge of $85 — $90 Million After Tax in First Quarter of 2010,” 3M, 3/26/10)

“AK Steel Holding Corp., The Third Largest U.S. Steelmaker By Sales, Said It Will Record A Non-Cash Charge Of About $31 Million Resulting From The Health-Care Overhaul Signed Into Law By President Barack Obama.” (“AK Steel Sees $31 Million Charge From New Health Law,” Business Week, 3/23/10)

It was also announced today that the democratic bill will cost Florida at least 700 jobs immediately.

HotAir has more on the billions that Obamacare will cost US corporations.

Yesterday, Caterpillar Inc. announced that Obamacare will cost the company $100 million in one quarter.

Andrew Berman has more thoughts on this oppressive bill.

TOTAL DEVASTATION… Obama Will Force US Debt to Soar to 90% of GDP

Barack Obama and Democrats tripled the national deficit in one year. They will likely top that this year.

But, it’s even worse then we thought.
Barack Obama’s budget will force the US debt to soar to 90% of the GDP.
The Washington Times reported:

President Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget will generate nearly $10 trillion in cumulative budget deficits over the next 10 years, $1.2 trillion more than the administration projected, and raise the federal debt to 90 percent of the nation’s economic output by 2020, the Congressional Budget Office reported Thursday.

In its 2011 budget, which the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released Feb. 1, the administration projected a 10-year deficit total of $8.53 trillion. After looking it over, CBO said in its final analysis, released Thursday, that the president’s budget would generate a combined $9.75 trillion in deficits over the next decade.

“An additional $1.2 trillion in debt dumped on [GDP] to our children makes a huge difference,” said Brian Riedl, a budget analyst at the conservative Heritage Foundation. “That represents an additional debt of $10,000 per household above and beyond the federal debt they are already carrying.”

Singer Gloria Estefan Leads Massive Freedom March to Denounce Castro Regime

Gloria Estefan led a march of tens of thousands in Miami yesterday in support of the Ladies in White and against the Marxist Castro regime:

Tens of thousands of supporters marched in Miami in support of Cuban dissidents.
The Miami Herald posted video from the march:

Babalu Blog has several postings on the massive rally.

May this be a reminder of our God-given freedoms.
FOX News reported:

A teary but smiling Gloria Estefan mounted the stage at the end of a march she spearheaded that drew tens of thousands of demonstrators in Miami’s Little Havana to support Cuban dissidents.

“Thank you Miami,” Estefan told the crowd that packed the street Thursday. “We are a people united by our love for freedom. We are here with all our different flags. That is what this great country allows us to do.”

Shouting “Libertad! Libertad!” the marchers gathered in support of the Ladies in White, a group of Cuban mothers and wives of 75 dissidents arrested in a 2003 government crackdown there. Last week, as the Ladies in White marched through Havana to mark the anniversary of the arrests, pro-government groups surrounded them and Cuban state security agents put several in choke holds.

At Thursday’s Miami demonstration, many brought children and grandparents.

Estefan, a Cuban-born, Grammy award winning singer and songwriter, held up a photo of the Ladies in White and two gladiola stems, the same flowers the Cuban dissidents carry when marching. Beside her were other singers, including Pit Bull, Willy Chirino, Natalia Jimenez and Luis Fonsi.

Republican Marco Rubio was there too.

South Korean Ship Sunk; Several Sailors Killed; Fire Returned; Birds Suspected (Updated)

CBC News Network has video:

South Korean officials are investigating whether an explosion on the Cheonan was struck by a torpedo.
FOX News reported:

The South Korean navy has reportedly fired shots at unidentified ships in the direction of North Korea as it investigates whether a sinking vessel in its fleet was struck by a torpedo Friday.

Military officials said the 1,200-ton ship Cheonan was patrolling in waters south of the maritime border with North Korea when an explosion occurred at the stern of the ship, which carries a crew of 104 sailors, KBS World Radio reported.

South Korean broadcaster SBS said many of the sailors were feared dead, as the country’s president, Lee Myung-Bak, called an emergency meeting of security-related ministers.

Twenty-four sailors have been rescued from the vessel, officials told the Korea Herald, and navy ships and helicopters continue to circle in an attempt to save more crew members, KBS World Radio reported.

There was no word on the cause of the explosion or any casualties, but officials did not rule out the possibility of an attack from North Korea.

The ship was sunk near Baekryeong Island off the west coast Friday night, according to Navy officials.

One Free Korea is following the story.

UPDATE: Reuters is now saying that a flock of birds may have been involved(?)

A defense ministry official later said that the unidentified object the vessel had fired at on Friday night near the western sea border that divides the two Koreas may well have been a flock of birds.

Initial fears that North Korea might be to blame caused ripples on Wall Street, where share prices dipped partly on geopolitical concerns, and the South Korean won dropped against the dollar.
